cTrader in the Browser: Charting, Execution & Review

Tradify now connects to cTrader. Sign in with your cTrader ID, pick your accounts, and they become terminals in Tradify — your broker's prices on the chart, orders from the chart, and every trade in the journal. There's nothing to install, and the connection stays up with your PC switched off. This guide covers what the connection does, what it doesn't, and how it sits next to MetaTrader 5.

For traders with a cTrader account at their broker Last reviewed 9 min read

What does it mean to use cTrader with Tradify?

Your cTrader account stays exactly where it is. Tradify becomes the place you drive it from.

cTrader is the platform your broker issues the account on — Spotware's software, with its own desktop, web and mobile apps. That's where your login lives, where your margin is held and where your broker fills your orders. Nothing about connecting Tradify changes any of that.

What Tradify adds is a second environment around that account: a browser workspace where the charting, the order ticket, the trade management, your trading plan and the journal sit in one window — and where a cTrader account and a MetaTrader 5 terminal can be traded side by side.

In one sentence: sign in with your cTrader ID, and each cTrader account you pick becomes a terminal in Tradify — its own prices on your charts, and orders you place go to it. Tradify is an independent product. It is not made by Spotware and is not a replacement for cTrader.

How the connection works

The link is cTrader's own Open API — the interface Spotware provides for third-party applications. You approve access once on cTrader's sign-in page, and from then on Tradify's servers talk to your account directly. That's the important difference from MetaTrader 5: there's no Expert Advisor, and nothing has to keep running on your computer.

  1. Your cTrader account Broker, login, margin — and the fills. Live and demo accounts both work.
  2. cTrader Open API Spotware's interface for approved apps. You grant Tradify access with your cTrader ID.
  3. Tradify, in the browser Charts, the order ticket, position management, plans, copy trading and the journal.

Online with your PC off

The connection lives on Tradify's servers, not on your machine. Close the cTrader app, shut the laptop — the account stays connected, so alerts, copy trading and the journal keep working.

Access you can see and revoke

cTrader's own consent page asks whether Tradify may trade or only view. Tradify stores the access tokens encrypted, never shows them, and deletes them when you remove the last account that uses them.

Connecting cTrader, step by step

It takes about a minute, and every step happens in the browser:

  1. Open the cTrader tab of your profile
In Tradify, open your profile and choose cTrader — or go straight to chart.tradify.pro/?profile=ctrader. You'll need a free Tradify account.
  2. Click Connect cTrader
Tradify sends you to cTrader's own sign-in page. Sign in with your cTrader ID there — your cTrader password never passes through Tradify.
  3. Allow trading
cTrader asks what Tradify may do. Allow trading if you want to place orders from the chart. If you grant view-only access, your accounts still connect, but Tradify will refuse orders and tell you so.
  4. Choose your accounts
Back in Tradify, a list shows every account that cTrader ID can reach, live first, each tagged Live or Demo. Tick the ones you want and press Connect selected. They come online within a few seconds.
  5. Point a chart at it
Switch a pane's data source to My accounts and pick the cTrader account. The symbol list, prices and history are now your broker's. Other panes can stay on the Tradify feed or on a MetaTrader 5 terminal.

Your broker has to offer cTrader. Tradify connects to an existing cTrader account; it doesn't open one. If your broker only offers MetaTrader 5, the MetaTrader 5 guide covers that connection instead.

Your broker's prices and history

A pane on a cTrader account shows your broker's own quotes, not Tradify's feed — useful when the spread and the exact price you'll be filled against matter to the decision.

Older history can take a moment. cTrader rate-limits history requests firmly, so Tradify paces them rather than risk being blocked. Scrolling far back on a cTrader pane, or opening many symbols at once, loads more gradually than on the Tradify feed. Live prices aren't affected.

Trade cTrader directly from the chart

The order ticket works the same way on cTrader as on MetaTrader 5. Draw a Long, Short or Risk/Reward and you've already set the entry, stop and target; size it, send it, and it goes to your cTrader account as a real order. Live Trading in the bottom bar opens the trading rail, where the quote is the button — SELL carries the bid, BUY the ask.

Placing the order

Managing it afterwards

Positions and pending orders draw on the chart with their stop and target, and update as cTrader reports fills and changes — including trades you place in cTrader itself, or that a cBot opens there.

What Tradify does and doesn't control. Tradify sends the instruction; your broker fills it. The price you get, the spread, slippage and any rejection are between your cTrader account and your broker, exactly as they would be from the cTrader app. Nothing about this connection changes your broker's conditions, and Tradify doesn't guarantee a fill or a price.

cTrader and MetaTrader 5 in one workspace

Plenty of traders hold accounts on both platforms — one broker on cTrader, another on MetaTrader 5, or a prop-firm account on one and a personal account on the other. In Tradify they're the same kind of thing: terminals, listed together under My accounts.

A cTrader account counts toward the same terminal limit as an MT5 terminal: Pro covers one, Elite covers three. Copy trading needs at least two, so it's an Elite workflow.

Charting and order flow

Every charting tool works on a cTrader pane exactly as it does anywhere else in Tradify:

Order flow comes from the Tradify feed, not from your cTrader account. Footprint, cumulative delta, the buy/sell volume split, tick charts and depth of market are built server-side from Tradify's own market feed. They aren't reconstructed from a connected account's prices. The usual setup is one pane on the Tradify feed carrying the footprint, and the order going to your cTrader account — see the order flow guide for what those tools measure. Order flow is Elite.

Plan the trade, then review it

The last step of the loop happens in the same place as the first. Every cTrader trade lands in the journal on its own, carrying the broker's real P/L, commission and swap, marked Exact (cTrader).

The journal, plans and setups are Elite. Paper trading and bar replay, for rehearsing a setup before it touches the account, are Pro+.

Do you still need cTrader?

For the account, yes. For the connection, no. Your account is a cTrader account at your broker and stays one. But unlike MetaTrader 5, nothing of cTrader's has to be running for Tradify to work with it — Tradify talks to the account through the Open API, not through an app on your machine.

You'll still want cTrader for the things only cTrader does. cTrader Algo cBots and custom indicators run in cTrader, not in Tradify, and Tradify can't import them. cTrader's own depth-of-market views, including the ones you can trade from, stay in cTrader — Tradify has no trading ladder. And cTrader's native apps for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android are the place for anything this guide doesn't cover. The two coexist happily: a cBot can keep trading the account in cTrader while you chart and manage the same account from Tradify. The Tradify vs cTrader comparison goes through where each one is the stronger tool.

cTrader alone vs. cTrader with Tradify

This isn't a scorecard — cTrader is a complete platform on its own. The table shows what the second layer adds, and what it doesn't.

A cTrader account on its own, compared with the same account connected to Tradify
Capability cTrader alone cTrader + Tradify
Account & fills Your broker, through cTrader Unchanged — still your broker
Setup Already there Sign in with your cTrader ID; nothing to install
Connection when your PC is off Web and mobile apps; cloud cBots The account stays connected in Tradify
MetaTrader 5 accounts in the same window No Side by side, with one journal
Copy trading to your own other accounts cTrader Copy, for strategies within cTrader Across your cTrader and MT5 accounts, sized per account Elite
Order entry from a drawing Order ticket and on-chart trading Long / Short / Risk-Reward drawing becomes the order
Risk-based sizing Depends on your setup Fixed lot, % of balance or cash risk, sized off the stop
Trading plan enforced at the ticket Not built in Guardrails and checklists; strict mode blocks the order Elite
Trade journal Account history and statements Automatic, with setups, adherence and exports Elite
Footprint & cumulative delta Via third-party add-ons Built in, on the Tradify feed Elite
Tradable depth of market Yes — Price DOM and VWAP DOM No trading ladder
Algorithmic trading cTrader Algo — cBots in C# or Python Does not run cBots; scripted indicators only
Native apps Windows, Mac, web, iOS and Android Browser, installable as an app on Android, Windows and iOS

cTrader's figures in this table come from Spotware's own published documentation, checked in October 2026: ctrader.com and help.ctrader.com. Capabilities can depend on your broker and region, so check anything decision-critical at the source.

Who is this for?

Likely a good fit if…

  • You trade cTrader and MetaTrader 5 accounts and want them in one place
  • You want to copy your own trades across brokers and platforms
  • You want your trading plan checked before the order goes out
  • You want a journal that fills itself in, with your broker's real numbers
  • You read footprint or delta and want the order ticket in the same window
  • You'd rather work in a browser tab than another desktop app

Probably not, if…

  • cTrader alone already does everything you need
  • Your trading lives in cBots and cTrader Algo
  • You trade from cTrader's depth-of-market ladder
  • You need your broker's own depth and order flow inside Tradify
  • Your broker doesn't offer cTrader at all

Execution is included on Pro, which every Tradify account gets free, so you can connect one cTrader account and find out whether the workflow suits you at no cost. Elite, at $29 a month, covers three accounts, copy trading, order flow and the journal.

Frequently asked questions

Does Tradify support cTrader?

Yes. Sign in with your cTrader ID and choose which of your live and demo accounts to link. Each becomes a terminal in Tradify, with its own prices on your charts and orders you place going to it. Tradify is an independent product and isn't affiliated with Spotware.

Do I need to install anything to connect cTrader?

No — no Expert Advisor, plugin or terminal. Tradify connects to cTrader's Open API from its own servers once you approve access on cTrader's sign-in page, and Tradify itself runs in the browser.

Does my cTrader account stay connected when my computer is off?

Yes. The connection lives on Tradify's servers, so a linked account stays online with your PC off or the cTrader app closed. That's the main practical difference from MetaTrader 5, where the terminal running the connector has to stay open.

Can I trade my cTrader account from Tradify?

Yes, if you allowed trading on cTrader's consent page. Market, limit and stop orders with SL and TP go from the chart, sized from your risk, and positions can be closed in part or in full, have their SL and TP changed, be moved to break-even or be reversed. With view-only access, Tradify shows the account but refuses orders until you connect again and allow trading. Live execution is included on Pro, free for every account.

Whose prices and history do I see on a cTrader pane?

Your broker's. History comes from cTrader's own bars and the live bar continues on the same grid; seconds timeframes are built from your account's tick data, up to about a week back. Bars are bid bars, and a bar only exists where a tick did.

Can I use cTrader and MetaTrader 5 together in Tradify?

Yes. Both sit under My accounts. Each chart pane picks its own source, any order can go to any connected account, and on Elite a trade placed on one account can be copied to the others, each sized from its own balance and risk.

Does order flow work on cTrader accounts?

Order flow is built on Tradify's own market feed rather than on a connected account. Footprint, cumulative delta, tick charts and depth come from that feed, so you read flow on a Tradify-feed pane and execute on the cTrader account. Order flow is Elite.

Can Tradify run my cBots?

No. cBots and cTrader Algo indicators run in cTrader, and Tradify doesn't import or execute them. A cBot can keep running in cTrader while you trade the same account from Tradify, and its positions show on Tradify's charts like any other.

How many cTrader accounts can I connect?

A cTrader account counts toward the same terminal limit as an MT5 terminal. Pro, which is free, covers one; Elite covers three, which is also what copy trading needs.

How do I disconnect cTrader?

Remove the account from the cTrader tab of your Tradify profile. Once no linked account still uses a cTrader sign-in, Tradify deletes that sign-in's stored access. Access tokens are kept encrypted and never shown.

Bring your cTrader account into one workspace

Sign in with your cTrader ID, pick your accounts, and trade them from the chart — next to your MetaTrader 5 terminals if you have them. Your account stays exactly where it is.
